Harsh is a senior legal and regulatory advisor to top global and domestic funds, with deep expertise in structuring complex investment platforms, navigating SEBI, RBI, and tax frameworks, and shaping India entry strategies.
Harsh Kothari is a Partner in the Funds, Asset Management and Regulatory group.
Harsh has over ten years of experience in advising clients in the financial services sector such as alternative investment funds, mutual funds, venture capital funds, private equity investors, foreign portfolio investors and foreign venture capital investors. He has assisted several global and domestic funds in structuring their Indian operations (including in GIFT City) and advised them on their entry and exit strategies from a legal, regulatory and tax perspective. Harsh has deep experience in handling multi-faceted assignments involving interplay of tax, RBI and SEBI regulations. His practice expertise includes financial services, taxation, financial regulations and inbound/ outbound investment structures and strategies.
He is an alumnus of Government Law College (LLB) and Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics (BCom). Harsh is also a Chartered Accountant and holds a Master’s degree in Commerce from the University of Mumbai. He is a member of the Bar Association of Maharashtra and Goa.
