Kartik specialises in fund structuring, formation, and regulatory strategy across AIFs, portfolio managers, and cross-border platforms, advising sponsors, managers, and institutional investors through the full fund lifecycle.
Kartik is a lawyer specialising in private investment funds and asset management. He advises fund managers, wealth managers, sponsors, and institutional investors on the structuring, formation, and operation of a wide range of investment platforms, including Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), portfolio management platforms, and cross-border pooled vehicles with an India focus.
Kartik advises on the entire fund lifecycle, from regulatory strategy and fund documentation to investor negotiations and ongoing compliance. He has deep experience with the SEBI (AIF), Portfolio Manager, and Investment Adviser Regulations, as well as the IFSCA (FME) Regulations, FEMA, and other securities and financial sector laws. He has advised clients across the private funds ecosystem, including sovereign wealth funds, development finance institutions, family offices, corporate treasuries, and fund and wealth managers.
Prior to joining the firm, Kartik was part of the Investment Funds practice at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, where he focused on fund formation, investor-side mandates, and regulatory advisory. Before that, he gained experience working with asset reconstruction companies in distressed asset resolution and financial restructuring.
Kartik holds a B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree from Symbiosis Law School, Pune.
