Bhavya Shah is a Senior Associate in the Investment Funds, Asset Management and Regulatory practice, focusing on the structuring, formation and operation of alternative investment funds across India, GIFT City IFSC and key offshore jurisdictions.
He advises domestic and international GPs on fund formation across a wide range of strategies, including private equity, venture capital, credit, real estate, hedge, and angel funds. His experience includes structuring India-focused offshore funds, particularly in jurisdiction such as Mauritius, and advising on cross-border investment platforms.
Bhavya’s practice covers the full lifecycle of funds, including structuring, documentation, regulatory registrations, and ongoing compliance. He regularly advises on fund documentation and capital raising, including LP negotiations with institutional investors.
He also advises portfolio managers and investment advisers on regulatory, operational, and compliance matters, providing practical guidance on day to day legal and regulatory issues.
Bhavya holds a BLS, LL.B. degree from Government Law College, Mumbai, and is a qualified Company Secretary. Prior to joining RegFin Legal, he worked as an Associate at Richie Sancheti Associates.
