Saumya Motwani is a Senior Associate in the Funds, Asset Management & Regulatory practice. Her core expertise lies in advising fund managers/ sponsors on the formation, documentation and registration of Alternative Investment Funds.
She advises fund managers and sponsors on the structuring and establishment of a wide range of fund vehicles, including Alternative Investment Funds in India and at GIFT IFSC with an India-focused strategy, across private equity, private credit and other alternative asset classes. Her experience includes designing and implementing master–feeder structures and advising on the associated regulatory, commercial and carry-related implications. She also represents institutional limited partners, including anchor investors, in their investments into domestic and offshore funds, assisting with fund documentation review and negotiation, and advising on structuring and key commercial terms.
She focuses on the full suite of fund documentation, including fund constitutive documents and side letters, and is actively involved in supporting fund managers on capital raising from institutional investors through negotiations with prospective limited partners.
Prior to joining IC RegFin Legal, Saumya was part of the Investment Funds practice at Trilegal and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, where she focused on fund formation and regulatory advisory.
She also holds a graduate degree in B.A. LL.B. from Kirit P. Mehta School of Law, NMIMS.
